Our Diocesan Mission. . . Celebrating 10 years of ministry to the poor!

As a way to mark the Jubilee Year 200, then-Bishop of Fall River, Sean O’Malley, made a five year commitment to serve the poor of Honduras through his friendship with Cardinal Rodriguez, the Archbishop of Tegucigalpa.  The Bishop made it clear from the beginning that "we are there to share our human, spiritual and financial resources with the Church in another part of the world that has great needs. And at the same time, they can enrich us by their faith and our solidarity with them".

Today, Bishop George W. Coleman has reaffirmed our diocesan commitment to serve the poor in Honduras.  On a recent visit he traveled to the villages for Mass, celebrated Confirmation, and witnessed the work that the Diocese is able to accomplish through the Mission Team and the support of so many generous parishioners back home.
