Parish Medical Clinic

The Dominican Sisters of the Presentation are part of the mission and ministry in the parish. When Sister Maria Ceballos arrived in 2001, she founded a small clinic in the former parish school.  As a Registered Nurse Practicioner, Sister Maria sought to meet the needs of the sick in the community.  She and Sister Gloribel, along with a small team, attend to approximately 1,000 patients each month.  Many of the sick would not otherwise be able to afford medical care if it were not for the ministry of the Sisters.

Many of the sick from the villages travel in some cases a couple of hours with their sick children to the clinic.  They know that they will be received with compassion and given the care they need.

The work of the clinic is made possible primarily through donations (medicines, supplies, and time) from parishioners in the Diocese.  Groups of nurses, dentists, and doctors visit the clinic from the Diocese to offer their skills to the work of healing the sick.

Need an aspirin?

The medical clinic has many needs for medicines that are sold "ove the counter" in the USA.

There is an updated list of medicines that the clinic could use. If you would like to help the Mission, consider having a collection drive in your parish, school, or family.

Each year different university and parish groups visit. They bring the supplies collected back home.
