honduras Honduran Mission

The Mission Team

The work being done by the Mission in Guaimaca is a group effort.  There are benefactors who support the Mission with their generosity financially and materially, there are visitors who offer their time and talent on site, and there are religious who offer their ministry to God’s poor.

Since the Mission began in 2000, there have been many changes in the Mission Team. Initially, Father Paul Canuel, Deacon Jim Marzilli and his wife Joanne, and Sister Maria Ceballos OP, were among the first to arrive in Guaimaca on behalf of the Diocese of Fall River.  Later Father Gustavo was added to the Team as the Parochial Vicar, and eventually Father Joseph Blyskosz came to replace him.  Sister Lucia Gomez OP, Sister Carmen Adela OP, Sister Gloria Clavijo OP, and Sister Silvia Leon OP, joined the Sisters' community in Guaimaca.

Today the Mission Team is comprised of Father Craig Pregana, Sister Maria Ceballos OP, Sister Marta Ines Toro OP, Sister Rosa Gloribel OP, Sister Teresa Maria OP, and Sister Olga Irias Diaz OP. Together they serve the needs of the people of the parish.
